While you’re waiting for the cryptocurrency market to surge you may as well spend your bitcoin on dim sum and beers.
Boys Don’t Cry, opened by Wilson Tang inside of now defunct Nom Wah Tu space on 22 Orchard St, has been serving booze and snacks and accepting bitcoin as payment since April 11.
This is not Tang’s first attempt at combining tech and food. At the original Nom Wah location in Nolita, which has been serving dumplings for the better half of a century, patrons can order machine-made dumplings through cashless kiosks.
Boys Don’t Cry is definitely a space in flux, with hours only recently confirmed through and instagram comment (Tuesday thru Sunday, 4pm -2am) and a rather empty website that only links to the bar’s new social media. Physical changes to the restaurant are relatively minor, including minimalist new signage and lights but also introducing a with their newly obtained liquor license. Offerings included canned and bottled beer, ciders, and classic cocktails with hotdogs and the previously mentioned dumplings for small plates.
