Boho chic bar chain The Garret now has a new Nolita outpost. With two others in the East and West villages, the new location completes a convenient downtown trifecta.
The new space is complete with an intsa-worthy wall of suitcases and neon art that points “south of stress.” There’s a payphone that encourages to “call your mom.” But it’s all part of the theme. According to management, “this new cocktail bar aims to feel like the home of your most well travelled and interesting friend,” Guest of a Guest reports.
Like the other outposts, the drink menu is focused on ingredients and liquors from Latin America, with tequilas and mezcals as a main attraction. Lessor known pours like pisco and aguardiente singani are also available. Their cocktails come expertly mixed, garnished, and refreshingly strong.
There’s also a small menu of tapas from south of the border, and tacos by the hidden Borrachito in the back of the Garret’s East Village space.
The Garret is now open until late night on Mondays through Fridays starting at 5pm and weekends starting at 12pm.
