Patrón heist busted in Florida


Four thirsty thieves in Florida tried and failed to lift more than $500,000 worth of premium tequila on US Highway 301 around 11 p.m. Sunday, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and the New York Post.

The robbers struck after a trucker stopped for dinner at the Tampa Truck Stop. He didn’t notice until after dinner that his trailer was missing.

The trailer was some after located by police and the thieves were caught red-handed shuffling cases of Patrón to another truck.

The men were charged with grand theft of $100,000 of more and burglary.

Police say that the retail value of the 966 cases of Patrón was $507,105.
