Kelsey Grammer, best known for his role as the neurotic psychoanalyst Fraiser Crane on “Cheers” and “Fraiser”, has opened a taproom on his large piece of property in the Catskills, reports Eater New York. His new venture is serving an in-house brew called “Faith American Ale”. It’s brewed further upstate for now, but he plans to eventually start brewing on the property in the future.
Grammer, who developed a strong bond to the area as a boy, purchased the former dairy farm 26 years ago with the dream, according to his website, of “returning this land and even this region to prosperity,” according to the company’s website.
That’s a noble goal and one that seems to rhyme with Grammer’s own struggles throughout his life, especially regarding alcohol abuse. We thought Grammer had given up drink, but in a 2016 interview he revealed he had quit AA and now drinks every day, albeit more responsibly. So, yes, check out his new taproom and help the Catskills economy, but don’t expect to get rowdy like the crew of “Down Periscope”.
