Hold on to your beers, ladies and gentlemen: there’s a new bar coming to Greenpoint!
Temkin’s Bar, located at 155 Greenpoint Ave, is slated to make their grand opening next Thursday, October 10th. Co-owner Steven Baird has already made quite the impression within the Brooklyn bar-scene with his established businesses The Owl Farm (Park Slope) and Cardiff (Fort Greene), and he intends to make his new spot a “nice and affordable neighborhood bar.”
A former carpet/flooring installation business named H. Temkin Carpets, the spot has since undergone an EXTREME make-over in preparation for grand alcohol-centered opening: red and white tiled floors, glass blocks, comfy booths and bar stools, wood paneling, and to tie it all together, a portion of the wall carpeted.
The owners have even adapted the original sign, paying homage to the spot’s former business and owner.
“Part of the appeal of this address was that the DOB had it listed as a bar, even though it’s been a carpet store for 50 years,” stated Baird.
From what we could gather by stalking their Instagram account, future patrons can expect pinball, copious amounts of Miller High Life, draft towers, and a Genny Cream Ale and shot special (Mellow Corn or Jelinek Fernet) for $5, all day, every day.
Now THIS is a bar we can get behind.
