The Cosmo: a controversial drink to say the least. However, when considered against the other classics, it’s essentially a cranberry sour. Given the current popularity of classic sours- think the Daiquiri or the Side Car- it is this writer’s opinion that the Cosmopolitan needs a reckoning of consideration.
Thus, Barchive would like to present the fall cosmo, easily made at home and eminently crushable:
2 oz. Vodka
1 oz. lemon
.75 oz Dry Curaçao
.25 oz Rosemary Syrup
Shake and double strain into a coupe, serve with a flamed rosemary frond.
To make Rosemary Syrup- Use classic 1:1 simple syrup recipe, but while cooking throw in .5 weight fresh rosemary.
